Florida Gulf Coast University Water School
The Water School at FGCU, located in Fort Myers, Florida, takes a comprehensive approach to addressing the most pressing challenges of our water-driven world, with a focus on climate change, natural resources, ecosystem health, and environmental restoration and remediation.
The 117,000-square-foot facility is the largest academic building on campus. Half of the space will be research labs dedicated to the school’s vital work on water quality issues in Southwest Florida. In addition to 58,600 square feet of research lab space, the four-story structure will also provide classrooms (23,400 square feet) and teaching labs (15,000 square feet). The new academic center will also bring most of The Water School’s core faculty and staff under one roof.
